Believing the offer was legitimate, Manish transferred Rs 54,16,790 to two bank accounts. However, when he contacted Toyota Kirloskar Motors directly, they confirmed the documents were fake. Immediately, he reported the matter to the cybercrime police station.

Following his complaint, investigators analyzed bank details and digital traces. They discovered a network of mule accounts used to receive and launder stolen money. As a result, police teams raided locations in Ambarnath, Ulhasnagar, and Surat.

During these operations, four men were arrested. These include Mubarak Ali Gafar Ali Shah (24) and Ankit Surendra Jha (25) from Thane, Santosh Kumar Yadav (29) from Surat, and Dharmendra Kumar (36) from Kalyan. Police recovered multiple bank passbooks, ATM cards, SIM cards, and mobile phones from them.

Each suspect had a specific role in the scam. Mubarak Ali opened and sold bank accounts to receive stolen money. Meanwhile, Ankit acted as a middleman connecting different gang members.
